About French Fries
French fries, also known as “frites” in France and Belgium, have a long history dating back to the late 17th century. Originally fried in animal fat, they became a popular street food in Belgium before spreading across Europe and eventually the world. The introduction of the air fryer has revolutionized the way we make French fries, allowing us to enjoy the same crispy texture with significantly less oil.
Traditional French fries are deep-fried in oil, which can make them high in calories and unhealthy fats. The air fryer, a modern kitchen gadget that uses hot air circulation to cook food, offers a healthier alternative. By using just a small amount of oil, air fryers can achieve the same crispy texture that people love in French fries, without the excess fat and calories. This method not only makes the fries healthier but also more convenient and quicker to prepare.
French fries have become a global phenomenon, enjoyed in various forms and flavors across cultures. Whether served as a side dish to burgers, paired with fish, or enjoyed on their own with a variety of dips, fries are a beloved comfort food. The air fryer has made it easier than ever to enjoy this classic treat at home, allowing for endless customization and healthier eating habits.

- Peel, and cut the potatoes lengthwise into French Fry shape, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick, standard or classic cut.
- Soak the uncooked French fries in ice cold water for 10-15 minutes, then drain and rinse to remove excess starch. Then pat the fries with paper towel to remove any excess water.

- Spray the bottom of the air fryer bucket with cooking spray.
